Die Universitätsbibliothek von Nitra erhielt eine polygonale Fassadenverkleidung aus dem Architekturgewebe MULTI-BARRETTE 8301.
Die ca. 1,31 m breiten Seilgewebe-Elemente sind polygonal angeordnet und erzeugen eine homogene Außenhaut des kreisrunden Gebäudes.
Das Drahtgewebe erzeugt durch seine große und offene Fläche, eine optisch leicht wirkende, transparente Hülle. Diese Hülle gewährt der Bibliothek einen guten Sonnenschutz und wertet das Gebäude zugleich optisch auf.
HAVER & BOECKER lieferte insgesamt 920 m² Metallgewebe in einbaufertigen Elementen mit Spanntechnik und unterstützte die Montagefirma vor Ort.
Bauwerk des Jahres 2011
Die Bibliothek in Nitra gewann den Hauptpreis im Wettbewerb „Bau des Jahres 2011“.
Überzeugt hat die Jury unter anderem der Einsatz von Edelstahldrahtgewebe für die Fassadenverkleidung. Sie bietet dem Gebäude einen effektiven Sonnenschutz und erhöht zugleich den architektonischen Charakter der Universitätsbibliothek.
