For the conversion of electromagnetic solar radiation into electric current, solar cells are metallised using a high-precision screen printing process. Due to their high yield strength, HAVER metal meshes for screen printing enable a high screen tension and thus a very low take-off of the screen printing mesh. They also offer a high register accuracy.
For our HAVER screen printing mesh, we weave very thin wires with tight diameter tolerances, a high yield strength and optimised surface finish. The high screen tension with minimal bounce results in an excellent register accuracy. By calendering in different gradations, the fabric thickness can be defined and adjusted to the printing process. In this way, the ink consumption can also be influenced. An optimal ink flow is also possible, which ensures an even colour gradient with an exactly definable ink layer thickness. The stencil can be easily released from the screen template, so cleaning is simple. Unlike polyester fabrics, Haver screen printing mesh is dimensionally stable and can be heated electrically. Therefore, it is well suited for printing with thermoplastic inks.
