Metal wire mesh laminated panels for fluidisation

HAVER PLYMESH

Whenever it comes to loosening, conveying and homogenising dusty and powdery products, aeration pads made from PLYMESH wire mesh laminated panels are an essential support. Furthermore, they have proved themselves in filtration applications. They are temperature and corrosion resistant.

Areas of application

HAVER PLYMESH are wire mesh laminated panels made from several layers of woven wire cloth that are firmly bonded together by sintering and calendering. We make them both from wire mesh with square meshes and from twilled weaves, and from a combination of both types of weave.

PLYMESH aeration pads are a highly effective discharge aid in silos. In air conveying troughs, especially in the high-temperature range, PLYMESH is a tried and tested separating element between the air and the material being conveyed.

Other applications include, for example:

  • Flow regulators in water pipes
  • Drinking water filtration
  • Silencers for air outlets
  • Filter inserts for air intake nozzles
  • Water separator for fuels
  • Hydraulic filtration, especially for the aerospace industry.

PLYMESH aeration cushion – so that everything flows

Dusty and powdery goods stored in silos and bunkers often tend to compact during storage. Discharge by gravity alone is then no longer guaranteed. This is where components from PLYMESH come into play: they ensure that you get an even discharge. To do this, air is blown evenly or intermittently through the PLYMESH into the powdered material.

PLYMESH aeration pads and candles can also be retrofitted into existing silos.

Smooth surface – so that nothing sticks.

PLYMESH has defined pore sizes between 5 and 500 micrometres. Unlike powder metallurgy products, the pore geometry is uniform. The surface is smooth, with flattened crests of the outer wire cloth layers, so that no material adheres.

The physical characteristics of the individual PLYMESH grades in terms of pore size and flow rate can be defined in advance with a view to the desired performance.

Which format do you need?

The size of PLYMESH panels depends on your specific requirements.

Project planning of PLYMESH aeration pads

In addition to supplying PLYMESH components for aeration, we also project complete aeration systems for silos. Depending on the silo shape and size as well as the product-specific properties, the PLYMESH aeration pads are installed one above the other at different heights around the circumference of the silo cone. The air is supplied via one or more ring lines.

Based on our experience with different silo shapes and sizes as well as numerous materials, we will be happy to advise you on the ideal number and placement of PLYMESH aeration pads in your silo.
