46. The wrong suitcase

Arriving from a long business trip in 2012, Business Unit Manager Burkhard Reploh was delighted to see his blue suitcase first on the conveyor belt.

He grabbed it and soon made his way home in the rental car. When he arrived at Kamener Kreuz, his cell phone rang.

A friendly lady from the airline asked him where his suitcase was. “Here in my car,” he replied. “That can’t be right,” said the friendly voice. “Your suitcase is here with me.” After a thorough check, he was able to confirm that he didn’t actually have the right suitcase in the car. He immediately turned around and drove back to Düsseldorf. Another traveler – who also wanted to get home quickly, but couldn't find his suitcase on the conveyor belt – was raging there.

The traveler only grumpily accepted Reploh’s apology. In the end, both travelers were almost three hours late getting home.
