67. ROTOSEAL floor packer receives an award from the German Packaging Institute in 2000

The ROTOSEAL floor packer was presented to the public for the first time at ACHEMA 2000.

The new development at the time was convincing across the board, as it combined the advantages of rotary machines with those of stationary machines in the medium output range – and all this at the cost of a row packer. In order to achieve the attractive cost target, shorter assembly times and a reduction in transport costs were pursued during development. The ergonomic operability of the system and an appealing design are now standard features of new developments. The result was a ROTO-PACKER® with sealing technology and bearings arranged at the bottom, which – together with the energy supply and dust extraction – were integrated into the newly designed spillage return system. The whole thing was built very compactly and housed in a base so that the system could be placed on the floor. In collaboration with the Tausend design office, an aesthetic and functional design was developed that took into account the operability of the system, the observation of work processes and ease of maintenance.

Encouraged by the positive response at ACHEMA in terms of efficiency and design, Haver & Boecker took part in the 23rd German Packaging Competition organised by the German Packaging Institute and was awarded a prize in the Machine Concepts category. The reasons given at the award ceremony at Fach Pack 2000 included the fact that “the machine technology guarantees a high level of product protection by sealing the bags, that building costs are eliminated to a large extent due to the design and that a significant improvement in the workplace is achieved by reducing dust and noise pollution”. The design was also praised.

As this was the first time the Machinery Division had received such an award in its then 75-year history, everyone involved in the development of the award-winning machine was over the moon.
