Modern design with functionality and sustainability

In addition to the Theatre Hall, the Conference Hall and the Internal Art Wall, pre-finished cassettes of architectural wire mesh by HAVER & BOECKER were also made for the VVIP room and other meeting rooms. To get a precise fit, custom made solutions were developed for the corner and ceiling areas.

Cassettes of bronze wire mesh were also installed in the Conference Hall.   To accommodate the multifunctional use of the room, many customized solutions were required for the ceiling and corner cladding.  EGLA-MONO 4391 has a flat surface on one side which creates a very homogenous appearance.

The architectural wire mesh was coated with clear varnish and glued to black-coated aluminium frames.  Acoustic protection within the ceiling cassettes and wall cladding, achieve noise-reducing effects and improve the acoustics.

To meet the exclusive requirements of the room’s ambience, the designers chose bronze and stainless steel wire mesh. The high-quality aesthetic of the architectural mesh, as well as the excellent long-life properties, non-flammability, easy maintenance and recyclability, made choosing HAVER & BOECKER wire mesh an easy decision for the client.

So as not to affect the homogeneous appearance of the decorative wire mesh claddings, HAVER & BOECKER developed a special invisible fastening system whereby the cassette elements remain removable.


Architectural Wire Mesh – Qatar National Convention Centre

The ceilings and walls inside the Qatar National Convention Centre are clad with 6,000 m² of architectural wire mesh made by HAVER & BOECKER. To meet the exclusive requirements of the room’s ambience, the designers chose bronze and stainless steel wire mesh. The high-quality aesthetic of the architectural mesh, as well as the excellent long-life properties, non-flammability, easy maintenance and recyclability, made choosing HAVER & BOECKER wire mesh an easy decision for the client.

Depending on the viewing angle, the facade appears to be dense or transparent.

Besides the good sound absorbing values systems with wire cloth can be easily maintened.

By using single components wire cloth, absorbing materials and subconstruction can be individually maintained or exchanged.

This was necessary after the devastating flooding in Dresden in 2002.

For the building of the Children's Medical Center in Austin many nature-colored materials have been used and combined with the corresponding landscaping architecture.

The mesh panel, supplied ready-to-install, fit smoothly into this ambience. They were used to clad the various emergency staircases as well as the parking lot below the helicopter landing pad.

HAVER & BOECKER's tensioning system is considering the high winds creating by arriving and departing helicopters.

Challenge:

The panels are equipped with a flat tension profile at the top, which is bolted directly to the substructure. To avoid intermediate mounting levels, the distance between the bottom tensioning points has been minimized. At the same time strong pressure springs have been used.
HAVER & BOECKER supplied ready-to-install panels.

For example, the car park in the French town of Moulins has recently been renovated and transformed. The facade was enveloped in architectural wire mesh cladding made of EGLA-MONO 4391 by HAVER & BOECKER. The flat surface on one side of the wire mesh appears to generate patterns across the full plain of the façade created by homogeneous light reflections.

The wire mesh cladding not only enhances the appearance of the car park, it also increases it´s functionality. The open area of 52 % provides natural lighting and ventilation, allowing  energy costs for lighting and ventilation systems to be significantly be economized.

The architect Gilles Bouchez Architecture redesigned the atrium of the French hotel „Hôtel de la Communauté de Mourenx“ with the architectural wire mesh EGLA-MONO 4391 and EGLA-MONO 4211 by Haver & Boecker. The flat surface on one side of the wire mesh EGLA-MONO creates a reflection across the full plane on the façade. Due to the rectangular opening and the special crimps lend the wire mesh got a good stability.

The wire mesh cladding should not only enhance the outdoor area of the atrium, it should also act as an effective sun screen. Due to its open area the semi-transparent stainless steel wire meshes are suitable as effective sunscreens. The woven wire mesh can be utilized to filter sunrays and create a comfortable and fresh light internal climate.

The architects from Groupe-6 used a facade cladding made of HAVER Architectural Mesh for the Institute of Mechanics and Acoustics of the French Research Organization CNRS in Marseille, France. The semitransparent stainless steel wire mesh made of mesh type EGLA-MONO 4391 from Haver & Boecker provides with an open are of 52 % an effective sun protection.

In total of 1,940 m² of HAVER Architectural mesh were supplied in ready-to-install elements.

Excellent shading values with HAVER Architectural Mesh.

Due to its semi-transparent geometry, metal mesh is well suitable for external sun protection. Woven wire mesh provides shade and reduces temperature in the summer, while maintaining warmth and reducing heating costs in the winter.

In Denver, the capital of Colorado, you can find the seventh Levitt Pavilion in the United States. The Levitt Pavilion is part of a growing family of outdoor Levitt music venues and concert sites across America, founded by the „Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation”. The private family foundation was established in 1963 by Mortimer and Mimi Levitt to support arts, culture and education.

The Levitt Pavilion is located within the 88 acres Ruby Hill Park in southwest Denver. In addition to a hilltop shelter, picnic areas and playgrounds, the Levitt Pavilion in particular should contribute to the revitalization of the park. The state-of-the-art amphitheater host 50 free concerts per year consisting of local, regional, national and international acts. Outside of the concert series, the amphitheater of the Levitt Pavilion Denver is available to schools, art organizations, external organizers and other non-profit organizations.

The venue’s architecture is extraordinary. It is as distinctive and versatile as the numerous artists who perform on its stage. The 1.500 square meter stage of the shaped-angled pavilion is flanked by a screen backdrop of metal mesh. The architecture firm “studiorope” chose for it the HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-MONO 4391. Due to the smooth surface, the wire mesh type EGLA-MONO has a particularly flat appearance.

All in all 39 wire mesh elements with different geometries clad 215 square meter of the screen backdrop. The mesh elements were mounted to the pavilion using the proven mounting system consisting of flat tension profiles, clevis bolts and pressure springs. The tension mechanism was adjusted to the conditions in such a way that the angular sides of the mesh elements could be bordered and tensioned accordingly.

As fall protection, HAVER Architectural Mesh made of stainless steel meets the highest requirements for safety and stability. Depending on the purpose, different weave types and alloys that are particularly resistant to weather and physical effects are available.

The pedestrian bridge leads over from the Avenue de la Plaine to the new Pavilion 6 of the Paris Expo. The semi-transparent stainless steel mesh EGLA-MONO 4391, painted in color RAL 1035, covers as fall protection both sides of the pedestrian walkway. Due to its smooth surface on one side, the wire mesh appears as a uniform metal veil.

In Friville-Escarbotin, France, the new office building of the company DELABIE received a façade cladding made of HAVER Architectural Mesh. HAVER Architectural Mesh offers architects and planners a multitude of design options for exterior facades. In new construction and renovation projects, the wire mesh cladding combines sophisticated aesthetics with high functionality. From a wide range of different mesh types, the architects of A4 architectes chose the architectural mesh EGLA-MONO 4391. They were not only convinced by the elegant aesthetics of the mesh cladding, but also by the functional properties of the metal mesh.

Effective sun shading with a perfect view to the outside
The facade cladding made of architectural mesh EGLA-MONO creates a very homogeneous appearance with flat light reflections due to its smooth surface on one side. The semi-transparent wire mesh cladding is not only a simple design element; it also acts as an effective sun protection façade. This is because the mesh structure filters sunrays and provide a comfortably fresh and at the same time light indoor climate. With an open area of 52 %, the wire mesh façade cladding made of the metal mesh EGLA-MONO 4391 appears – despite of its sun protection function – extremely transparent from the inside and allows an unobstructed view from the interior out to the street.

Haver & Boecker supplied ready-to-install mesh elements. The mesh panels, up to 7.30 meters long and 3 meters wide, were tensioned over the entire height of the façade and mounted using the proven fastening system of flat tension profiles, clevis bolts and pressure springs.

Designed by the architects from Bialosky Cleveland the lifestyle center Crocker Park located in Westlake, Ohio opened 2004. The center is essentially an outdoor mall with areas for recreation and socializing which is based on a small French town-type setting.

Meanwhile, on 2 million square feet the center comprises 650 residential units, 131 retail, 26 restaurants and various office facilities. Crocker Park attracts more than 16 million visitors a year to Westlake.

In 2015 a new parking garage was built by Bialosky Cleveland with a façade cladding made of HAVER Architectural Mesh. The Parking Garage K is prominently located at the northeast corner of Crocker Park and serves as the primary parking option in the entertainment district, adjacent to the theater, hotel, and restaurants. The sandstone colored precast garage is designed to blend in with many of the surrounding buildings but also make a statement at the vehicular entries for clear wayfinding.

One part of the entrance area of the façade is clad with HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-MONO 4631. The wire mesh type EGLA-MONO is often used as façade material because of its homogeneous appearance with wide light reflections.

The architectural wire mesh is used on the one hand to celebrate the vehicular entries of the garage as a large format screens in front of the spandrels and on the other hand to catch sunlight during the day and accent lighting at night.

HAVER Architectural Mesh convince with an elegant appearance and meet the highest standards of safety and stability. The woven wire mesh is virtually maintenance-free, easy to clean, non-flammable and offers sun protection. At the same time the wire mesh EGLA-MONO 4631 ensures with an open area of 58% an abundance of natural light and air to flow through the parking area.
The 9x3 m long mesh elements are mounted with the proven mounting system consisting of a flat tension profiles, clevis screws and pressure springs.

• Installation of single elements with HAVER & BOECKER tensioning systems

To spice up the LAPD MTD+MSP Parking Garage JFAK Architects opted to create a unique facade made from woven wire mesh. Additionally the imaginary façade concept showed a leaf design and an undulating shape.

Together with our US subsidiary W.S. Tyler, HAVER & BOECKER was first faced with these tasks by the architect in the summer of 2005. Almost exactly four years later 49 architectural wire mesh panels for a total quantity of just under 1300 m² were installed.

To realize the undulating form of the facade, the wire mesh panels, which are made from EGLA-MONO 4832, are split into vertically and horizontally tensioned elements. 34 vertical panels are up to 13500 mm long and 2440 mm wide. The horizontal canopy consists of 12 panels with a maximum length of 5750 mm in the same width.

Additonally three straight panels were installed at the side of the parking garage. These elements are 13100 mm long and 1830 mm wide.

All panels are equipped with the HAVER & BOECKER standard mounting system "flat tension profile with clevis bolts". Pressure springs allow for perfect tensioning, while wire connectors are used to the secure the mesh at the intermediate mounting levels.

The painting is an overlay of larger and smaller leaves, some painted in two different green shades, some not. The architect decided to not paint the initally existing third "color" to keep some of the sparkle and reflective quality of the stainless steel. The lacquering was the very last manufacturing step just prior to shipping the material from Germany to Los Angeles.
