Woven Sun Shading - Architectural Mesh in Mexico

In the heart of Mexico City’s vibrant Lomas de Chapultepec district, the Cofre de Perote office building has stood as a striking architectural landmark since 2024. Designed by DMA Demurga Arquitectos, the building blends modern aesthetics with functional sustainability. A key feature of this balance is the building’s façade, which utilizes the HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-MONO 4991.

Effective solar shading is essential to minimizing the amount of heat entering the building and reducing energy consumption for air conditioning. Solar shading is particularly important in sunny regions, such as Mexico City.

The sun protection façade of the "Cofre de Perote" spans over 200 square meters and consists of mesh elements secured with tension strips and clevis screws. With a weight of approximately 6.3 kg/m², the HAVER Architectural Mesh EGLA-MONO 4991 features a sleek, uniform appearance with an open area of about 54%. Its clear, filigree structure is both visually appealing and functional.
