After 65 years of loyal service, it was to be replaced by a modern ROTO-PACKER® in 1993. Haver & Boecker decided to take back the deserving packing machine, which was built in 1928.
A “mercy killing” for packing machines is not common, but the old packer still received special treatment. It was cleaned and refurbished and was intended to be a vivid demonstration of the quality and durability of HAVER products. In order to restore the packer to its original configuration, the parts added later – such as the pre-installed electrical box – were removed. The type plate not only indicated that the machine was equipped with an automatic weighing system with dribble feed adjustment, but also showed the calibration mark up to 1993.
