Pierre Balmadier (*1897, †1982), who dedicated his entire life to HAVER packing machines, was undoubtedly one of them.
In 1929 – just four years after the Machinery Division was founded – Pierre Balmadier became a representative for Haver & Boecker in France. Over four decades – long periods of which were characterised by the Second World War – he successfully championed the interests of the German company in France and in French-speaking countries. It was also he who acquired all of Haver & Boecker’s patents and trademarks in 1945 when they were put up for public sale in France and made them available to Haver & Boecker again.
As has been handed down, his personality reflected the outstanding qualities of an engineer, a designer, a consultant and a far-sighted entrepreneur. He paid particular attention to the design of the packing machines. As he gave it special impetus, the second B in the BB and BBV series was dedicated to the prudent designer Pierre Balmadier.
Throughout his time at Haver & Boecker, he lived by unmistakable values such as loyalty, incorruptibility and reliability. His sales successes and the satisfaction of his customers were proof of this. It was well known that he lived for Haver & Boecker and its packing machines. He explained this in his farewell letter of 30 December 1971 to the Haver families and all employees: “... Since my first contact with the Haver & Boecker company in January 1929, I immediately appreciated the friendly and informal atmosphere that prevailed there. On my first trip to Oelde, I was attracted by Mr Erich and Mr Fritz Haver (note: second-generation Managing Directors), whom I got to know at the time. Thanks to the trust that Mr Fritz Haver very quickly showed me, Haver & Boecker has become a second family to me, and a little more every day for 40 years ...”
