To adapt to a globally competitive situation while providing employees the chance to gain new perspectives, the HAVER & BOECKER company, the Polytechnic of South Westphalia in Meschede, and Siemens AG in the district of Warendorf have been on a mutually shared path since 2007.

For the employees of these companies undergoing continuing education and who would like to achieve an academic level, the possibility of completing an internationally recognised degree-programme that accompanies occupation or an apprenticeship has been offered since 2007.

  • Business (degree: Bachelor of Arts)
  • International Management with Engineering (degree: Bachelor of Arts)
  • Mechanical Engineering (degree: Bachelor of Engineering)
  • Industrial Engineering and Management (degree: Bachelor of Engineering)
  • Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering and Management and Electrical Engineering (degree: Bachelor of Engineering)

Various teaching methods are combined with one another in the degree studies. The students study the material on their own in surroundings of their choice and at a learning speed that is independent of time or location.

This "self-learning“ is supplemented by so-called "presence lectures" that take place ten Saturdays per semester at a suitable branch in Oelde. Here the material is covered together with experts, the knowledge level is checked, and the expertise is then developed further. An Internet platform forms the third building block. It provides necessary information, offers support in case of important questions, includes access to expert knowledge, and enables exchange with other students. Qualified coaching of graduates is another building block to success.

With this concept of with-costs, work-accompanying degree studies, the employers are providing their performing employees new perspectives while enhancing their regional ties. Work and study can be ideally combined.
